Making magic happen by raising money

and awareness for worthwhile organizations

Recently I had the opportunity to visit Paul Mitchell The School Las Vegas, where I saw their amazing “FUNraising Know-It-All Wall.” What a great idea! They put all of their FUNraising forms, calendars, and other important information in one place, and they even made a Facebook video about it.

Speaking of videos, have you seen the 2014 FUNraising Campaign playlist on our Paul Mitchell Schools YouTube channel? You’ll find the fireburners and special messages from our partners, including a beautiful new message from Kathy Buckley and the No Limits kids. Be sure to share the links on your social networks and spread the great news about our FUNraising campaign! And if you have a video to share, please let me know, so we can add it to the playlist!

VICTORIES!

Vanguard College of Cosmetology in Baton Rouge raised $119 with a hotly contested macaroni bake-off. Drew Stockwell beat his fellow Learning Leaders and was crowned Macaroni King! Valentine’s Day candygrams and other great FUNraisers brought Vanguard’s total to $12,168. They’re looking forward to their Mardis Gras hair show and other upcoming events.

Paul Mitchell The School Santa Barbara raised $1,300 with a single garage sale. Their upcoming makeup class with Jan Ryan is almost sold out, and they’ve had some very successful bake sales, bringing their total to $5,000 to date.

Paul Mitchell The School Costa Mesa raised $1,975 from a special class featuring Angus Mitchell and Julian Perlingiero. Attendees included salon professionals from the surrounding area as well as some Learning Leaders and a few Future Professionals. Costa Mesa has raised $10,000 toward their $40,000 goal!

Paul Mitchell The School Dallas welcomed Richard McDade, a Paul Mitchell National Educator from Mongolia Focus Salon in Fort Worth, Texas. Richard’s class raised $640, bringing Dallas’s total to $25,000. Their goal is $100,000, and they’re off to a wonderful start!

The Lab has reached the $10,000 mark, thanks to their nonstop bake sales, casual days, cut-a-thons, and classes. Their Cutting Specialist held an amazing advanced color class, and everyone is eagerly signing up for Danielle Piniarski’s Updo Class and Jan Ryan’s Airbrush class.

Paul Mitchell The School Escanaba raised $630 in five hours with their super-fun Ladies Day. They offered a variety of non-chemical services at a cost of 2 for $20. Excitement was high, salon reality set in, and they sold a ton of Take Home, which helped with their bottle goals for the month. Learning Leader Peg Lippens held a 2-week Hansen’s pizza and cookie dough sale that raised another $650.

Our Utah Corporate Office keeps cooking up one yummy FUNraiser after another. Their Root Beer Float Day raised $64, and their 3rd annual Chili Cook Off raised $115.

At Paul Mitchell The School Temecula, Future Professional Felicia Madrid raised $950 in one hour to help bring their ONE Event total to $2,500!

Our Educators and Advanced Academy members are holding classes everywhere! Danielle Piniarski has raised $4,500 toward her goal of $8,500, with long hair and updo classes at several schools. She created special “Pamper Me Pink” packages for her school’s clinic floor, offering special services with proceeds going to Cancer Schmancer. She’s even been doing hair for her Future Professionals, with all the money plus tips going toward FUNraising.

Paul Mitchell The School Santa Barbara raised $1,300 with a single garage sale. Their upcoming makeup class with Jan Ryan is almost sold out, and they’ve had some very successful bake sales, bringing their total to $5,000 to date.

Our Costa Mesa Corporate Office is raffling off a $750 travel voucher for air travel anywhere in the USA. The voucher was donated by a travel agent, and tickets are $37 each. Sales end April 14, and the drawing takes place the next day. Contact John Kucharski at the Costa Mesa office for more information. What a great idea!

TIP OF THE WEEK: Holiday-Themed FUNraisers

Valentine’s Day was a few weeks ago, St. Patrick’s Day is coming soon, and Easter is just around the corner. Holidays are a great opportunity to create magic and raise money. Do you have activities planned for ALL the upcoming holidays between now and May 4? Several holidays and events take place during the FUNraising campaign:

         Chinese New Year         Super Bowl
         Valentine’s Day              Academy Awards
         Mardis Gras                  St. Patrick’s Day
         Easter                           Passover

Although some have already passed this year, it’s not too soon to plan for 2015. Take advantage of after-holiday sales to stock up on supplies for next year, and watch the Weekly Updates for victories and ideas from other schools. What else can you do now, while these holidays are fresh in your mind?
