Week 5 Victories

  • Paul Mitchell The School Tysons Corner raised over $300 in 15 minutes to do this to a Learning Leader!
  • The front desk wall at Paul Mitchell The School St. Louis proudly displays over $600 in donation cards. Other recent events include a yard sale ($1,899), staff cut-a-thon ($360), and makeup sale ($285). Poppin' Fridays, where they sell $1 bags of freshly popped popcorn, raised $96 in just two Fridays! Upcoming events include a Mouse Race, Spirit Week, Staff Pie-in-the-Face, a Debra Dietrich class, their 6th Annual Beauty Battle, and a Prom to round out the month of March.
  • Continuing their nonstop food FUNraisers, our Utah corporate office team raised $194 with their recent bake-off. Marketing Director Josh Knox shows off his prize-winning cake.
  • Paul Mitchell The School Tinley Park raised $3,000 in one hour with their very successful ONE Event. The Design Team hosted a delicious buffet that brought in $320 in one lunch hour. The best part: team members donated all the food and also paid to eat!
  • At Michael’s School of Hair Design and Esthetics, A Paul Mitchell Partner School in Bedford, New Hampshire, Future Professionals enjoyed a pizza lunch and two-hour concert by local native Josh Logan. Josh was a contestant on The Voice, winner of the Toast of the Town award from the 2014 Boston Nightlife Awards, and the New England Music Awards Performer of the Year. Josh signed autographs and took pictures with everyone at the event, which raised almost $350. Future Professional Juliet Lord sang a duet with Josh and exhibited her amazing voice.

Tip of the Week: Hold a Prince or Princess Party

These events typically raise over $200–400 and you can get great FREE press with them.

  • Decorate a large classroom with a princess theme and invite children ages 3–13 for updos, makeup, manicures, and fun.
  • Little girls can wear their princess outfits (they love it!).
  • Sell fun “extras,” like boas, tiaras, or “after” pictures in decorated frames.
  • Expand on the theme to include boys, too: Prince and Princess? Princess and Pirate? Princess and Superhero? The kids love it and their moms get to see your school.
  • Every community has beauty queens who all wear tiaras. Their reign is about making a difference and volunteering, so they might be willing to attend your event. Inviting a real beauty queen could be a big hit (and a great press opportunity)!

Visit the Hub FUNraising tab (under FUNraising Files) for customizable event templates, including Prince, Princess, Pirate Party – and more! Also see the 2014 FUNraising Idea Book for more tips and success stories about Prince and Princess Days.
